Mom for a Day
Well, it's 10:48 a.m. on August 23rd, 2008. My wife has left to go on a "Girl's Daytrip to Kansas City." What does that mean? It means I get to see what Mom goes through 7 days a week. Today, it is just me and the boys -- doing boy things.
How am I blogging when I am supposed to be watching Evan and Owen -- well -- it is naptime!! My morning has been nonstop. They started with a bottle of milk at 7:15, we played some, then had fruit and biscuits and gravy for breakfast at 8:30, played some more/watched cartoons, Dad gave each boy a bath (much needed), had another bottle of milk at 10:30 and then nap. I decided to do about 15 minutes of "pick up" around the house and showered myself. Hell, I am beat -- I think I need a nap!
This Mom thing is tough work. Next on the docket is lunch -- I think a little scrambled eggs and some fruit is on the menu -- not like I am going to let them order. After lunch, we can go out on the deck and play ball. I am sure we will watch some Olympics too. A late afternoon nap will be followed by a walk around the neighborhood. I think the Chiefs come on a 7 pm -- I think we'll kick back with some hot dogs and beer -- don't tell my wife (she doesn't want the boys to drink beer until they are 3!) Just kidding!!
Well this tired blogger is going to go watch some Olympics until the boys wake up. I might even check out the latest Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin news - if you can call it news. I say Mickey Mouse for President -- he would at least make my boys happy. Late.
